OUR OFFICE USES ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY TO AID IN ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS, GENTLE AND EFFECTIVE TREATMENT, WHILE DELIVERING AN EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE FOR PATIENTS.
Surgical Operating Microscopes
At our office, we are trained and experienced in all aspects of microscopic and microsurgical endodontics. Working with Surgical Operating Microscopes enables us to perform procedures with the ultimate precision, efficiency, and confidence. Whether the treatment is performed by means of a non-surgical procedure or as a surgical endodontic one, the microscope provides superior illumination and magnification that allows maximum visualization of the root of the tooth. Any defects that can impact the treatment and prognosis of the tooth such as cracks, root fractures, calcified canals, as well as canals with challenging anatomy, will be visualized with this optical system. Additionally, because our microscopic and microsurgical endodontic procedures involve the use of smaller instruments there is less tissue trauma from treatment, resulting in shorter recovery time and better healing.
Digital Radiography
Digital radiography utilizes computer technology and digital sensors for the acquisition, viewing, storage, and sharing of radiographic images. It offers our patients several benefits over the older traditional film-based methods of taking x-rays. The most significant of these advantages is that digital radiography reduces a patient’s exposure to radiation by up to 80-90 percent from that of conventional dental x-rays. We have selected this particular system for our office as it is among the safest for providing the high-resolution radiographic images that may be needed during your endodontic procedure.
CONE BEAM CT (3D SCAN)
Cone beam CT (3D Scan) offers accurate and high-quality 3-D representations of dental and facial structures. This enables us to more precisely diagnose an underlying problem, detect unforeseen defects, and minimize the need for exploratory procedures. CBCT facilitates more effective care and more consistent successful outcomes.
Clinical applications of CBCT technology in endodontics include the following:
- Detection and diagnosis of pathology at the root end of the teeth
- Pre-operative assessment of the dental surgical area and treatment planning
- Assessment and management of traumatic dental injuries
- Evaluation of root canal anatomy and complex morphology
- Detection of root fractures and root resorption
- Evaluation of previously endodontically treated teeth
- Dental implant work-up
Occasionally, dental defects or pathology that deems a tooth non-restorable will be revealed on a CBCT scan. If this happens, we will advise you that the tooth cannot be saved.
ELECTRIC HANDPIECES
As part of our commitment to providing our patients with the best overall experience, we use only electric handpieces for our endodontic procedures. These handpieces produce less noise and less vibration than air driven handpieces, thereby creating a much quieter and more pleasant dental visit for our patients.
PRECISE AND CONSERVATIVE TREATMENT
Electronic apex locators
Using electronic apex locators helps our endodontists more precisely perform your root canal therapy by allowing for accurate measurements of root canal lengths. These important measurements are important for achieving a successful outcome. Electronic apex locators also help us to reduce the number of x-rays and radiographs required during the procedure, thereby reducing the patient’ exposure to radiation.
Ultrasonic instruments
By using special ultrasonic instruments we can be more effective gaining access to canal openings, removing intra-canal materials or obstructions, and more precisely preparing the canals for a filling material. They are especially useful in surgical endodontics and in the treatment of difficult cases, which might otherwise have been deemed hopeless.
NICKEL TITANIUM INSTRUMENTATION
The introduction of Nickel–titanium (NiTi) rotary instruments in the field of endodontics has been of great benefit to the both the practitioner and the patient. For the endodontist using rotary technology has improved the efficiency and accuracy of their root canal procedures. In terms of the patient, this technology makes their overall experience smoother and more comfortable.
TDO Software
We use TDO Software as it is considered the best endodontic software available. It is used to manage all patient records and information and has comprehensive modules that make our office paperless, a great convenience for our patients and referring dentists. The website integration allows our patients to securely access the site to complete the medical history and consent forms online before their appointment. The software allows our referring dentists to make referral and receive their patients’ reports and imaging through secured HIPAA compliant portal right after the patient is seen. This technology enables us to diagnose and treat our patients more efficiently and to communicate more effectively with both the patient and referring doctor that is secured and HIPAA compliant.
